Am I doing this right?

Morning/Noon/Night everyone! (Depends on where you live lol).
Yesterday I began a new diet/workout plan. I just want to make sure it's alright;
In the morning I drink coffee with creamer which is about 100 cals or less altogether and a bagel thin slice, like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Thomas-39-100-Whole-Wheat-Bagel-Thins-13-oz/15716613 (not this exact one but u get the idea) with apricot preserves which has 0g sugar and only 10 cals a tsp.
For lunch, I may have this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sara-Lee-Thin-Style-Honey-Wheat-Buns-12-oz-8ct/17178071 with turkey or chicken breast and a bit of Miracle Whip, the light one. And I'll drink water or some kind of juice or cold tea.
A snack in between, 100 cals or less.
And finally for the night I'll eat a salad or whatever mom's making. Usually something healthy and she cooks without salt.
Anyway, in the gym I'll do cardio about 30-40 mins and then I'll proceed to doing legs/abs or arms/shoulders/abs, they alternate depending on what day it is, for example, today I have to do arms/shoulders/abs combo and tomorrow legs/abs combo. I rest Mondays. I do this 1 day 1 combo the other the next so I generally rest 2 days before I do the same exercises again.
Is this all ok? I heard that you should rest 3 days before you work on the same muscles. Is this true or am I doing fine?
Thanks for your help in advance.

your doin great! your already leaps and bounds ahead of most people! working out is all about how you feel. just listen to your body. if its hard to walk that day obviously, you should rest 1 more day before you do legs. just go by how you feel. after a while it will become natural. and you dont need to do abs everyday. their just like any other muscle, ur abs need rest too. when your lifting weights ur constantly engaging your core. cut it down to 2 days a week.0

Oh wow thanks for your help! It may seem dumb but even that was encouraging enough for me to keep on and not lose hope. Thanks again!0
