    Here is a DIY bra for backless shirts - it basically looks like part of the shirt because it is 3 straps running across your back instead of the typical hook/loop section:

    ^This or buy a bandeau bra. I see them all the time under backless tops.

    Also a good idea. :) And if you are too large chested for a bandeau bra, it can be worn over a regular bra and it hides the before mentioned ugly hook/loop section of a normal bra.

    Perfect timing for this post! Thank you for all of the suggestions! I'm looking for a backless shirt and a very low backed bra for an upcoming photo shoot for the tattoo on my back. I need something that will show off the tattoo without covering it up (i.e. no bandeau bras, no pretty lacy things). I'm going strictly utilitarian to hold up the "can't-live-without-a-bra" 36DDs.

    ummm....little word of warning on the sticky nipple covers....whatever you do, do not come home after a drink or two (or 6 or 8 or 10) and rip them off..... the words 'bloody nipples' should convey what may happen.....:sad:

    Before I lost the weight I was a DDD and I could not even consider going braless. It was too uncomfortable. I wouldn't go backless either. Now I have done a complete turn around . I look like a boy so I can go braless! Still don't want to go backless though. I'm too old for that!

    I just saw not long ago a bra for backless tops...it was almost like a figure 8...it came across the chest and then looped around the arms. I can't for the life of me remember where though...Kohls maybe?
