I'm leaving for Vegas on Saturday for 4 days and wanted to know if any of you have any tips for picking the right foods? I'll be going with my husband and sister in law and her husband. I'm pretty positive the chances of everyone agreeing to eat at a vegetarian bistro are quite slim, so I want to know anyone's suggestions so I'm not just eating salads the whole weekend!
Also we'll be staying at the Aria, has anyone had any experience with the workout area there?

Stay away from the booze and women. Haha...
Sorry, I have no real advice. The buffets there are too good...0 -

Not to mention the fact that this trip is sponsored by an alcohol company so we get free alcohol the entire time lol0 -

Make decent choices but just have fun..it's Vegas. All that walking will help. I can usually get my Vegas weight off in under a week with++++ water.0 -
EAT ALL THE FOOD AT ALL THE BUFFETS.
I especially like the Wynn or Encore buffets. Best food. . .. .crab legs.....so many desserts your teeth will hurt.
Just enjoy and walk and swim a lot.
It's Vegas. No calories.0 -

the buffets are pretty extensive and affordable, there is something for everyone and alot of times the casinos will comp you credit to eat there for playing the machines
ps
sweet tomatoes is an awesome restaurant if you get a chance0 -
Just go have fun.
Walk the strip instead of cabbing it and call it a wash.0 -
I would limit myself to one large meal a day. If you need a big breakfast to kick off a hangover from a previous night of drinking, go lighter on lunch/dinner. If you know you'll be eating at a buffet for dinner, have a small breakfast(maybe bring your favorite granola bar and an apple) and split an entree somewhere for lunch (maybe with the other wife, or your husband). It is a vacation, so cheat a little, but you don't have to go way overboard every day.0

Enjoy, hydrate, exercise, repeat. You won't do any damage in 4 days that can't be easily reversed. Just be sure to get right back on track when you get home.0

The selection is enormous so there's plenty of healthy choices. The tough part is portion control.0

Thanks everyone for your replies! It was exactly what I needed to hear!!! I felt like I was going to have a panic attack just thinking about having to count calories this weekend lol I didn't want my motto to be "What happens in Vegas, stays on my hips" haha0

I'm just back from Vegas, and with the amount of walking you wind up doing, skip the gym and enjoy your trip! It is a lot more fun to see all the goings on and sights while walking than going and doing a workout Bring good shoes for walking (now is not the time for high heels, unless you're just going to dinner bring a refillable water bottle to keep you hydrated. Watch portion sizes (restaurants serve vast amounts of food, hubby an I like to try to share a meal, and had yogurt and a banana for breakfast each day) Most of all, have fun, and don't worry too much! :bigsmile:0

Thank you for your great advice!! I'll provably use my Runkeeper app to track how long/far I've walked. Great ideas, thanks!0 -
