Diets never work. It has to be a lifestyle change to last. :)

True story! This is where I've failed too many times to count! Good luck :)

After losing 30 lbs in 1996-7 and keeping it off through a pregnancy and 4 years after, the weight slowly started to creep back on. First 6-8 pounds, then another 6-8, then another 10, and finally another 5. What? My problems: I have exercised all my adult life and just starting a exercise program will not cut it for me. I don't eat junk food, sweets, nor drink soda, so there is no "easy fix" for me to lose weight. After 2 years of moping, whining, and complaining about my weight gain, I stepped on the scale and could not believe I weighed 182 lbs!!! A co-worker recommended myfitnesspal and I absolutely love it. I had tried "LoseIt" a couple of years ago and it was tedious and horrible to use and it did not help me lose weight. I lost 2.4 lbs the first week without feeling deprived or hungry. I can now exercise less and still eat healthy food in normal quantities. I truly feel I can reach my goal of 155 and am psyched to try for 135 to 140. It is so easy and helpful to use this site that I don't foresee any problems in continuing the rest of my life. Once I reach a weight I'm comfortable with, I'll just switch to maintenance. The other problem is I hate structured diets. We cook most of our meals with whole food and I try to limit fat and sugar all the time.
