1200 to 1220 calories?

OK, so I had my goals set to lose 2 pounds a week last week, and after giving myself a good kick start, set it back down to lose 1 pound a week.

So I it recommended 1200 cals a day to lose 2 pounds but 1220 to lose 1 pound a week - only 20 calories extra? I feel cheated.

I'm thinking the 1200 is the limit (least) it will allow you to eat, so I should have been technically eating less to achieve the 2 pounds loss? I did it anyway... anyone else noticed this?

Did you select sedentary? Most people aren't sedentary even with office jobs.

Also keep in mind the MFP assumes you will exercise and eat those calories back so it doesn't intend for you to eat 1220 calories every single day.

Yes, you are correct, MFP won't go below 1200 calories so if you choose a goal that is too high and it puts you below that you get the standard 1200.

If you have 20 lbs or less to lose, 1 lb a week may be too high of a goal. The less you have to lose the smaller your deficit should be.
