I believe my macros are set on mfp's default. What should they be set on?? What are the best percentages for carbs, proteins, and fats??

Set them however you like! Some people have lower carbs because of a medical reason or a personal choice. Some people have higher protein because they are trying to build muscle.
40/30/30 is one that is very popular. Try out one and see how it works for you.0 -
Mine are 35% carb / 25% prot / 40% fat but I am OK with going up or down 5% on most of them. What I did was determine the # grams of protein based on 1g per pound of LBM and convert it into a % of my current calorie goal, keep my carbohydrates under the level that makes me cranky and endlessly hungry (again, a gram number, converted to %), and then let fat fill in the rest. I really had to tweak the carb number because for me it makes a huge difference in how I feel.0

I was never even coming close to my carb allotment but constantly going over the protein allotment before on mfp's defaults. The fats I went over only once. I've switched to 40-30-30 and I'll see how that goes. I'm really not even sure how the macro allotments effect weight loss if you stay within your calories. Do they really make a big difference?0
