I have tracked my calorie intake for 30 days, and have stayed under my goal for all but 4 days. In addition I have worked out (p90) 3 times per week over this period Yet I have gained 3 pounds What gives ?

You'd probably get better responses if you unlocked your diary. Are you measuring correctly? Undereating? Gaining muscle?0

Thanks for the suggestion - I just unlocked my diary. My concern after reading many postings and articles is that I may be under-eating. Some calculations like TDEE minus 20% would have me eating 2500 calories per day. Its hard to get in my head that I may need to eat more (+ probably more healthy)0

I just skimmed through your diary and thought WOW that's a lot of beer and fast food. I know the mantra is "only calories matter", but many have also stated that they didn't lose any weight until they changed the types of calories they were eating, too. Maybe try one week of no alcohol, no fried foods and see if the scale drops. Have you noticed any changes in how you feel or how your clothes fit?0

Why aren't you eating all of your calories?0

Going over the past few days of your diary... you are not eating nearly enough and what you are eating is mainly junk.
As a male, you should be consuming a LOT more than what you are now.
Switch out the beer and V8 juice for some real, fresh food. Have meals filled with fresh fruits, fresh veggies, lean meats. Increase your water. Enjoy a beer or two once or twice a week instead of almost everyday. There's very little nutrition in what you have been eating lately.0 -
I don't think the issue is WHAT you are eating; rather, I think it is how MUCH - not enough at all. I would suggest that you try and hit your calorie goals and then see how the weight loss is going. You are way undereating! Good luck!0

TDEE less 20% is absolutely the way to lose - I stalled eating at or below 1200 and switched once understanding this concept and lost 5 lbs in about 3 weeks - here is a post I put up:

you could underestimate the amounts wrong.. or not eating enough.
did you take pics? noticed any change at all?0
