Get a heart rate monitor and see which one burns more calories. Cardio will not make your calves or any other muscle bigger. Low carb is fine, you lose a lot of water weight in the beginning and some people find their cravings are better controlled on a low carb diet. Fats and protein are more satiating than carbs so it also helps control hunger. The drawbacks are that low carb diets can be hard to stick to and that you might have less energy.

For starters, 3 hours a day is overkill. Your body needs time to recover. Not only that but you will burn so many calories your deficit would be ridiculous. As for what burns more, who cares, you should enjoy your exercise whatever it may be, its sposed to be a lifestyle change not a punishment, find something you enjoy doing, that challenges you. My two cents anyway.

3 hours of Zumba? 2 hours of stationary? You ever heard of overtraining?
Honestly you could probably do a shorter more effective cardio program I have never worked out for that long for any reason and beleive me doing so will do more harm than good.

But that's just my advice :)
