Weight gain!

In the past 5 days I have suddenly gained 2.5kg. I am
sticking to my calories and still exercising the same. Any ideas why this has happened? I am really early into the diet
Too! Pretty upset right now. I do have my period at the moment, but the bloating has gone down so assumed
it wouldn't be that.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Daily fluctuations are normal. Don't stress. Maybe try weighing less often.0

Yep! You got more fit and gained muscle. This is heavier than fat, but good for you. You will now have more performance and burn more calories.0 -
I can gain that by simply putting the scales on different parts of the floor. I wouldn't be too concerned. Give it a day or two.0

Thank you will try again in two days and if no change will come to the confusion that all the running I have been doing has made me stronger0

Oh honey.. do yourself a favor and be stronger than I am. Throw out your scale. I step on mine way too often, and many days it can do as little as frustrate me, or leave me feeling like a failure. I am a slow learner, but maybe I can help you.
Stop standing on the scale everyday... pay attention to how your clothes fit and how you feel. Are you stronger now than you were 30 days ago? Are you clothes fitting better or even too big? Are you moving better than you did 60 days ago?
I have been working on losing weight for almost 6 months now, I have lost just short of 25lbs. But getting over that 25lb hurdle is taking forever. I have been bouncing between 213 and 210.8 for over 30 days now. But my clothes are fitting totally differently, I have to wear camis under almost all my tshirts. Because when I bend over I flash the world. All my tshirts are so big I know I will have to replace all them with smaller sizes by summer. Replace them, as the give them away. Unwearable unless I am wearing them for a smock, to prevent me from spilling when eating.
My body is different than it was 30 days ago, maybe not weight but size and ability to move better defiantly.
Look for the small changes, and praise yourself for every single one of them.0 -

I come to the confusion all the time.0 -
OK I am going to just say that it is normal. In my schooling we studied hormones and yes you ladies get the joy of gaining a few pounds every month during that time as your body holds on to all the nutrients to prepare for a baby. When that doesn't happen the bloating goes down but it can still take a few days after that to lose the pounds. So you haven't gained fat and it will likely go away.
I would say skip the scale for about a week before and after your period.0 -
I only weigh once a week, just disappointed. Yes clothes are fitting better and my stamina is stronger. Thank you for your help. I need the scales though, if I can't see a number I lose track so easily. Scales keep me focused. Wow tags a great loss! Well done. Previously I lost 30kg, that was a year ago so now I am continuing to get more off. I did it a different way, so this is all new for me.0

Hahahha confusion is confusing0

Thanks KevDaniel, I will hold out for a bit in weighing and see how i go x0

I know and I understand. Me and my scale are working on a healthier relationship, but as you say stepping on it keeps me focused. I know its tough, and I know how crazy it can drive me. Just know you are not alone. I hate but love my scale too. :blushing:0

Being numbers focused will one day haunt you if your goal is fitness. As I said, muscle is heavier than fat. So if one day you find yourself 10kg heavier, yet able to run a 6min. mile, you need to understand that you are now an athlete.
If you don't make that mental jump, you will sacrifice health and performance for a number on a machine.0 -
I still have another 40kg to go..... A long long way yet. I know the numbers thing isn't everything but if I have something that keeps me focused then I will stick to it, even if the number isn't perfect, just having the scales and a ritual help me. I have started taking measurements instead as this is probably a better way to go x thanks for your advice x0

When I started 5 weeks ago I was having pretty wild fluctuations. It seems my body is getting used to it and only in the last week has it been more steady. Still a few pound difference throughout the day and day to day is normal.0

Well, the fluctuation is starting to go down. Won't record my weight for a week until all PMS signs are Long gone! Gosh bring a f sucks at times x0
