Hip Exercises Please!

I have been told by my physical therapist that my knee problem is caused by weak hip muscles that cause everything to be out of whack. I am starting to physical therapy twice weekly starting Monday, but I was wondering what YOUR favorite hip exercises are so that I have something I can do at home, as well. Thanks

My physical therapist said the same thing! Lay on your side and do leg lifts with a resistance band or weight. Standing do the same type of move. Good luck!0

my pt has me doing some exercises that are a funky looking squat.....feet are inverted and you squat....not a deep squat as you hit knees if you try to and might even fall doing so0

I suggest you Zumba! Esp. if you like dancing! Because all of the Zumba moves require moving hips!0

Belly dancing definitely requires hips. It's a whole body workout.0

Zumba is poor for anyone with knee problems, I'm afraid.
To the op - hip muscles? What did they mean by that?
Assuming we're talking bottom and thighs, squats are your best bet. Make sure you go below parallel to avoid knee strain.0 -

If I had a qualified physical therapist prescribing exercises specific to my condition to do at home, I'd do what they said.0
