Okay, so I was here for about a week, and then left. For some reason I thought I just couldn't be bothered counting calories and exercise calories. But it is the only week where my night time excessive snacking was semi under control. So I am back as I really want to kick the night time stuff out!!! I am a 34 year old New Zealander... and hope to share lots with you all and hopefully gain support from others too ....

Oh and Happy 4th of July to all the Americans.... its the 4th here,, but not sure if its the 4th in the USA yet? :)

    Thanks--it's the 4th here! : )

I love this site, but am still struggling to stay under my daily caloric intake. I snack late at night too, but it's usually because I work at home and am up late into the wee hours of the morning and do get hungry (real hunger, not just "bored" hunger); so that in addition to poor planning has put me over my intake a LOT.

Anyway--good luck with your new outlook and new plan!

If you have more control over your eating during the day then start your calorie counting at midnight. Anything you eat in the "wee hours" counts towards the next day. You'll know when you wake up how many calories you have left and you can make better choices based on that. You might be able to control yourself better. Of course this doesn't give you "carte blanche" to eat anything at night but it may keep you from getting too out of control if you can keep it together the next day. I work night shift and this is the only way I can do it. I get the munchies at night too.

    Welcome back spookydolly76

Nighttime snacking will usually any good I've done all day. So a few of us started our own little "support group". Feel free to join us at anytime!

Welcome back! That's why I am so grateful for my iphone, inputting everything as I go along (I don't use it much for phoning anybody LOL).

Stick with it, it's only the first few weeks that you are consciously aware of counting calories after that you probably won't blink an eyelid when you do it.
  • Thank you all - I read these messages this morning and they have put me in a great mind set :)
