HELP - Medicine requires eating 80g of fat a day!

I have to take a medicine that requires 40g of fat with each dose, twice a day. I can use coconut oil for 13g, because I take that anyway, but I can't take too much of that, because it's a laxative.
The doctor says eat things like grilled cheese sandwiches, bacon, fried chicken (which I love, but have been avoiding), whole milk and ice cream. Evidently, if you don't eat this fat with the medicine, it doesn't work, because it's not well metabolized by the human body. I don't have a choice -- I have to take it for 5 weeks.
How on earth am I going to offset this much fat? How much exercise does it take to get rid of this much fat? That's 720 calories. I normally eat about half that much fat, so I'm thinking 9 cal. per gram x40 = 360 extra calories a day I have to burn. Is that right?
I'm sort of freaking out here. I was trying so hard to go low-fat, now it seems instead of baking my meat, I have to fry it. I'm going to try to eat healthy fats, but still -- that's a lot of calories! I don't even know if I can eat that much in one meal. I've always been a grazer. On the other hand, being able to eat friend chicken and bacon will be nice. Maybe I should go Atkins for that 5 weeks.

dietary fat does not make you fat. To many calories does. So, eat fat-calorie dense foods such as nuts, avocado, cheeses, etc and keep within your caloric goals and you will be fine.0

you can make smoothies with whole milk, almond milk, and blend in things like avocado to give it texture. You can also add frozen fruit to keep the calories down which will offset the milk, etc.
You can eat salad with nuts and avocado, things like fresh salmon.0 -
I've set my macros to include 45% fat. My calories are at 1500 right now. That gives me 51g a day. That's how I like to eat, so the 80 sounds great to me!
Just use butter, full fat milk, avocado and cheese with everything, and add nuts. Walnuts are especially good. Nuts are so good for you, they have all kinds of minerals. They're small, easy to eat a lot of nuts.
I'm kind of jealous, actually.
Don't fry your foods, it damages the oil once it's overheated. Just slap a pat of butter on your steakBleu cheese dressing on your salad.

Just looked and WOW! Nuts DO have a lot of fat! Especially my favorites - macadamia. Well, a good excuse to chow down on nuts, then, right? A nice, large salad with lots of nuts, cheese, eggs and avocados, crumbled bacon and coconut oil dressing would do it. Well, so would a 1/4 lb. hamburger, which I may slip in once in awhile, just because I can, but don't want too much saturated fat. My favorite ice cream - Ben & Jerry's Butter Pecan has 21g of fat per 1/2 cup. Hmmmm.....
Thanks, everyone. I'm not so afraid now. I can definitely do the salad idea. I was so scared I was going into heart-attack territory! You guys are the GREATEST! I'll still go over on calories, but maybe I can just have fruit for lunch to offset them.0 -
What drug are you speaking about? I am a pharmacist and cannot think of any such drug with the exception of griseofulvin which is a very old medication that is hardly used anymore. If you are taking griseofulvin, depending on the infection for which you are being treated you could ask your md for a more modern anti fungal. Diflucan/lamisil orally do not require fats like griseofulvin and are also far more effective.0
