An Old Newbie

Greetings! I've been a member for several months, but just recently (June 25th to be exact) started using the resources. I'm a 50 year old 2nd career nursing student who decided it was about time to start applying all the things I've been learning about nutrition & exercise to myself. I've crept up to 170 lbs. over the last few years and, trying to be realistic, I'd like to get myself down to 150. If I'm dreaming however, I'd like to be back to a size 6, with no wrinkles or gray hair :-)
Anyway, I've started working out daily, using that Wii we've had sitting in the living room for ages and a bicycle I bought on craigslist and trying to keep a close eye on what I eat. I'm hoping to find a few friends to enjoy this journey with. Here's to us!!

Glad you are back. I am also an "old newbie" This time however i am here to stay. I had alot of success last time on MFP, got lazy and quit logging in and a disaster ensued. So I am logging in everyday, first thing i do is pull up MFP so it is visible on my computer, works for me so far. We can do this!!!!:flowerforyou:0

Welcome back!
I've had great success with this site -- even though the weight loss has been slow. But I look at it this way, at least I'm maintaining and really that's all weight loss really is ... MAINTAINING. I'm happy to maintain and if I lose a half a pound every so often, then, that's icing on the cake. It's all worth it. :flowerforyou:

Welcome. I just got here myself. Do let us know how the Wii works out. Used the boxing program once at a friends house and found it fun.
I'm 48. No grey hairs yet, but plenty of wrinkles. Most of them have been made by smiling and laughing so I'll embrace them as symbols of my ability to laugh at my troubles.
There is a certain freedom that comes with age. You start to care so much less of what others think of you and care more about what you think of you.
Think less about size and more about health and strenght.
And I second your final words! Here is to us! We rock, we roll, and we, on occassion, do the boo-gah-lou.0 -
Welcome back! I have been using Wii Fit Plus for several weeks now and am enjoying it! I do Advanced Step, Strength training twists, Running and Boxing. I am sweating by the end of 35-40 minutes 6 days a week. People on this board are talking about EA Sports Active for Wii and I am looking into this because I get bored very easily. I also do a pool aerobic work out and also need to get air in my bike's tires so I can ride it! Lost 8 lbs (joined MFP after 4 so it only shows 4 lost). I am also logging everything that passes these lips and found I snack ALOT!0
