Just had a child--can't wait until I can get my body back!

I just had a baby 4 weeks ago. I can't start exercising for another 2 weeks because I had a c-section. I made this account so I could track calories while I wait. Before I was pregnant I was 5'9 and 180lbs. I never really looked that big, I wore a size 8/10 dress. I gained a bit more weight than I should have during the pregnancy :/ My top weight was 241lbs. In the first nine days I went to 209lbs. I haven't been weighed since because I don't have a scale yet. Now I'm in a size 14/16 dress (meh!). I have to be really careful though with my diet and exercise plan. When I was 12 and 13 I developed an eating disorder. While I have been fine since, I haven't been on a strict diet since then. The eating disorder that young also messed up my metabolism a bit, whenever I have tried losing weight through exercise it never worked. Hopefully it'll work better this time. I hope to get to 160lbs eventually! Plus my husband is going to help me too, he's in the Marines so he's obviously pretty fit! I'm starting the 30 day shred after I'm cleared for exercise. I'm going to be following a 1,200 calorie a day diet. I can't wait! I'm so pumped to start. I hate that I have to wait though. Hopefully I can do this!

  • Hi there. I just had a baby in January. I am looking to loose about 15 -20lbs. I can't wait to fit in my pants again. I am breastfeeding though so I can't restrict my calories too much but I am hoping that this will help me keep track of the foods I am eating and help me to stay away from the bad foods. I am not sure of the exercise, I am going to try going for lots of walks, and find some things to do at home. Good luck to you. I hope it goes well for you.

Omgoodness... reading your intro reminded me of... me!

Except for the husband is a Marine. Mine works in insurance...lol!

First off, congrats on your baby! Is it your first?

I have a 3 1/2 year old little boy. He came very unexpectedly after 13 years of marriage. A very sweet surprise : )

Ok, first off you had a C-section. So did I. As soon as you are able to, walk.

I am not sure where you are from, but it is warming up here in New Jersey. Get that baby in a carriage (a jogger stroller is best) and WALK.

Take it slow. Your body just went through some serious stuff. Your enthusiasm is wonderful! Channel it s-l-o-w-l-y.

I understand how you feel... I miss my sexy size 8 jeans ( I am also 5' 9" but was 170 lb).

    Good luck! Stay in touch!

Yes he's my first. I've been walking quite a bit. I have been since I was 1 week pp. I don't have stroller but I have one of those baby pack things and I walk around with him in it all the time. He's a whopper size baby (9 and half pounds!) So i feel like I'm carrying weights around when I walk with him xD

Omg you sound like me! Well, except that I'm a year post. The weight gain is similar, c section, big baby (my girl was 9lb 11oz at birth)...wow!
I tried the 30 day shred about 6mo post, but couldn't stick with it because I injured myself. Also, the ab work was bad for me because my muscles never got back together (diastasis recti)...didn't find out until recently. It's great that you're walking a lot, and you've got built-in strength training with your baby :)
  • Congratulations on the nEw addition! My youngest is 8 weeks!

Hello and welcome! Oh, and many congrats on your baby of course! :flowerforyou:

Feel free to add me for support if you like. I had a baby last August and still trying to lose the baby weight. To be fair, I haven't really tried until now as my head has never been in it. A lot of the weight fell off naturally in time however there is a remaining stone which won't budge and I am on here to shift it, and then hopefully another stone and a half after that.

I was 11 stone 4 lbs and a size 12/14 when I got pregnant. Straight after the birth of my baby (also by c-section and he was 10 lbs 3 oz!) I was 194 lbs and a size 16/18. 7 months on, I am 167 lbs and a size 14/16. My final goal is to reach 133 lbs and a size 10. However for the moment my first smaller goal is to reach 154 lbs.

Good luck! You can do it!
