Finally. No more snoring without the hose nose, AKA CPAP.
Still should schedule a follow up with my sleep specialist to confirm that the sleep apnea is no more.
But my wife confirmed that I no longer snore without it.
I sleep better without it now too.

that is AWESOME! Congrats, I am just getting ready to start using a CPAP, but my apnea is very very mild. They really think it will just relieve stress hormones and in turn the pain I get at night that wakes me up. We shall see. I am willing to try it.!0

how did you stop the snoring?
Lost 80+ pounds so far. I was at 310 when I was diagnosed. Weight is one of the top causes of sleep apnea.
Snoring without sleep apnea does not rate a CPAP. The CPAP is primarily stop prevent breathing stoppage (sleep apnea) while sleeping. That it stops snoring is secondary. At least that is how it was explained to me.
My wife hated the air flow on her too but it was nothing compared to the loud snoring keeping her up or the panic she felt every time she saw me stop breathing. People have died from this. Luckily I did not before I got diagnosed.0 -
That's awesome! You're getting healthy and adding healthy years to your life.0

That is truly awesome! I hope that will happen when I lose my weight as well, but I've snored and had apnea even when I was skinny, but I don't think it was as extreme as it is now. Any improvement would be great. I'm so happy for you!!0

That's awesome!! That's my goal to finally be able to give up the CPAP machine!0

The final step is making a followup with my doctor. Probably have to do another sleep study to confirm that the apnea is gone. But it definitely seems that way.:bigsmile:0

Obstructive sleep apnoea, for those who don't know, isn't really just snoring. It's the sound of a person nearly choking to death multiple times every night from the sheer weight of their bodies crushing them. The noise is the choking in progress - the silence is when they stop breathing and the snorting sound afterwards is the body waking them up before they die.
Well done, you!0
