Hey guys,

This is probably not the best place to ask but I figured there have to be some users from Montreal on MFP, or people who have at least traveled there…

I am from Massachusetts, and a friend and I are looking to drive up to Montreal this summer and stay for at least 4 days. Neither of us have ever been to Canada and I could use advice on things we could do. We are in our early 20’s, and are not really into tourist traps unless it is a must see. We like dive bars, weird museums, nature spots, seeing local bands play, really anything that is cool and would be a good time that isn’t going to break the bank. We also need a cheap place to stay that isn’t a complete dump as we are both poor as *kitten*. So if you know of any hostels or hotels/ motels you would recommend please do. Any help would be appreciated

Hotel St-Denis is not bad, you are right in the middle of the action, yet, it's calm... not too expensive too. You have Ste-Catherine near, bars near, metro near etc, etc... and a Pacini (excellent pasta restaurant with amazing breakfast).
