I would say planning your meals is key, especially if you're just starting out as it is always harder in the beginning, but with time you will be hitting your macros like it's 2nd nature.

Which part are you struggling with? The fat? The protein?

    Hi! thank you.
I am struggling mostly with the protein but the problem is that I can't eat so much food...
I lift and I'm trying to gaining weight, so i wanted also to know if the cals are right for a 152 pound / 6.135 feet man.
  • Add in extra ingredients with your shakes, peanut butter, a table spoon of olive oil. Cook with coconut oil/olive oil. Eat nutella. Make an egg white omelette with bacon or chicken. The list is endless. I'm a 5 ft 4 female and I could happily eat that amount of cals. I seriously have no problem at all reaching 2000+. Just get eating man!! lol

Don't use a regular protein powder... you can use a mass gainer, but that's just basically just like added sugar and corn which you could do yourself.

It wouldn't be hard to add whole milk your protein shake and blend in oats and some sort of fat. I know some bodybuilders will add things like avocados even as a healthy fat and they can't taste it with the strong flavors usually whey has. Start drinking juice.... OJ has a lot of carbs.

If you do a 'clean' bulk then your fat gains will be lessened. But essentially I believe the answer is no....You will gain some bf, thats the nature of the beast when bulking, you 'cut' after your bulk to shed the fat.

Also, a key component for bulking that people who don't put on a lot of weight is not to eat when you're hungry.. eat when you can physically can eat. You can start snacking more in between meals. You could invest in high calorie snacks like gatorade and protein bars.

A lot of people think they're 8% bf but really they're closer to 12%. If you want to limit your fat gains while bulking you should only increase your calories maybe 100-200 more a day above maintenance. Those guys who go out to PF Changs every night and get fat as hell probably gain like 5 lbs of muscle and 30 lbs of fat.

Thank you! good tips. So I'll go for a slow bulk.
One more thing. Do I need so much pro? or can I aim at a 25% of my calories?

I'm trying to be as clean as possible, I have avoided any kind of junk food and I workout 4-5 times a week.
Anyway I know I have to face that I need some mass because I do look like a castaway XD
