I walk briskly at 4 miles an hour on tread for 30 minutes....my tread has the interactive digital counter on it. On it it says 300 whatever burned....but when I log in diary I put in 30 minutes it tells me 206 cals......I know I can manually change it....but how do I know whats accurate????

my tread or app.....tread doesn't have a setting for my weight....if app yes....I log new weight every week. My ellipt is a two in one...ellipt and bike.....even on there it has a digital counter...I use good tension....do five miles....break my a**.....and logging minutes on app gives different cals burned than actual reader.....which I can adjust.....so what gives????

When all is said and done...I really don't care what it says or how the app calculates it...I see a difference and that's what counts. But its making me nuts : )

A decent rule of thumb for walking or jogging is #miles x weight in pounds x 0.68 = calories burned.
    Not perfect, but good enough.
