only been doing this app a week, ,, very interesting,,, its pretty hard to get the calories then the carb/fat/protein balance right - and if you do you normally end up with too much sodium/salt etc.
Im just wondering whats more important?

Trying to add 1lb per week on, it works out around 2600 calories a day, but once I add on 1/2 hour walking the dog then a 1 1/2 hour bike ride at weekends - it can go up to 3800 cal needed!
Any ideas how to get to this level?
Im pretty healthy eat fruit/veg everyday amongst other healthy things, however to physically eat 3800 cal a day and get the balance right I'm struggling.

I assume by "gain weight" you want to build lean muscle mass? Do you use protein powders? Do you lift weights?

Whole wheat pastas are good for being high calorie but I sabotage myself by getting pasta sauce that is high in sugar.

yeah i do the same on the 'packet pasta and sauce' cos its easier than the cooking from scratch

well its just general lean weight gain, not a big weight lifitng fan more running/cycling etc
dont use protein powders, thats not really the problem,, even eating healthy as i do, the protein ends up more than the daily allowance.
enjoy things like fish, chicken etc,, however these are high for protein but dont pack too many calories or carbs so struggle to get the daily calorie value
