Thighs?

Hi everyone!

So I am a fairly active, young girl at a healthy weight and good BMI (I would like to lose a few more pounds but don't need to, health wise) but I am very uncomfortable with my thighs... they jiggle quite a bit. I've seen super skinny girls with thighs that bounce (probably from losing a lot of weight at some point)...

I'm really not sure what to do. It's just the inside of my leg. A problem area for many women, I know. I've been told that exercising a particular area will not burn the fat off, and I believe it, but what about toning? The rest of my legs are pretty muscular. I just don't know where to start.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum... :\

So your inner thighs actually? Building muscle will defenetely help tone them. It's just pretty hard to build muscle there. There's still quite a few exercises you can do to work them. Just google. :)
    Do you strength train?

Hi thank you for your answer!

I used to when I was back on the mainland, U.S. I'm out-of-state for a few months so I haven't been able to make it to the gym unfortunately. I did those hip abductions (I think they are called...) and I loved them.

Yes those are what I would have recommended if you had access to a gym. :) I do them on the cable tower regularly & they're great.

Bodyweight squats/plie squats/lunges/glute bridges should help, too. There's so many exercises, I just don't know the proper names for them. :D Just browse around the www. :)

Start doing squats. I had lost almost all of my weight but my thighs were still disproportionately large when I started lifting weights. I've been lifting and eating at close to maintenance and I've lost an inch off of each of them since I started. They're still my problem area but definitely getting better. Also, losing overall body fat will help.

If you don't have access to a gym or free weights, Amazon ships worldwide (yay) and if you can't get a shipment from them, ExpatExpress.com can ship. Order some resistance bands and use them to do squats. You'll get a great workout.

Lunges, squats, burpees are all good for getting the legs in shape. And jumping rope will help you burn the fat off all over while you do it.

I'm pretty thin too, and my thighs are only just now getting in shape. I've been lifting really heavy for less than 6 months, and it takes time, but you'll see noticeable improvement in 2.

POP Pilates (youtube it - free, yay!) has at least a couple of videos for thigh exercises. They will HURT haha but I've found them to be helpful in the past, before I got lazy.

I've been doing all sorts of variations of squats, lunges, and burpees, mostly through Jillian Michael's dvd workouts. They've toned my legs a lot, and I've lost a few inches off the fattest part of my thighs since the beginning.

However, I recently did a few of the Brazil Butt Lift workout dvd's, and I felt actual soreness specifically in my inner thigh…something I wasn't feeling with my prior routine. It made me happy, and I can't wait to do them again today.

Brazil Butt Lift is a bit costly; I was able to get the program from a friend…if you're able to get it, the 2 workouts I think are most effective for inner thigh are called BUM BUM and High & Tight.

NOTE: He's probably incorporating moves that are Pilates-related, so give that a shot too. Good luck!!
