Hi Caz, HUGS to you. I know how it is to try to lose weight when you have little support. There is hope though. You do have to be creative around that hope. Sometimes when people seem to be sabotaging our efforts we take it personally and sometimes even think they don't really care. Truth is that they have not reached the level of awareness. We are all at different places in our lives. If someone else is conditioned to eating poorly they often don't even consider that there is anything unhealthy about their eating or they may be in denial. Some wake up and some never get it. This is why we have to just think about what is best for ourselves personally. I also had to contend with the fried food crud that was placed before me. I would pick off the outer crust and eat the meat in the middle. If it was something like fries I would not eat them. If that offended the person then oh well...too bad. Eventually they may come around. The good news is that we are able to make our own foods and I have seen many times when my own preps have been favored over the fried crud and a gradual transformation happens. When I was in a relationship with someone for many years who had some bad eating habits I took over a lot of the cooking and not only did they like my cooking better they also started seeking healthier eating and lost weight. Good luck to you in your journey. You are not alone! I see you have several MFP friends and we are all here for you.0

ask if you can cook or go grocery shopping and you can get the things that you need and prepare them for your dad.0
