I am going to Vegas in a few weeks for the first time. If you have been, what were your favorite restaurants, shows, tours, landmarks and/or entertainment? I am super excited!

I'm not a Vegas person at all, but the times I've had to be there for conferences I stayed at the Mirage for their fantastic swimming pool.

I love Vegas! But, we never have much money for shows, etc. The jousting dinner show at the Excalibur is fun and less expensive than most. The free pirate show at Treasure Island is good. Just touring all the casinos and hotels is great entertainment. Once we took a day trip to the Grand Canyon in a Hummer. That was fun. Great shopping at Caesar's Forum Shops.

We're hoping to go in June but waiting on some contractors' schedules. I want to see a cirque du soleil show this time.

I go once a year and I ABSOLUTELY love it. Where are you staying?

There are a million restaurants to go to but if you here are my recommendations!

Steak - STK @ The Cosmopolitan
Sushi - Sushi Roku @ Caesars Palace
    Italian - LAVO @ The Venitian / Table 21 @ The Palazzo
Pub - BLT Burger @ The Mirage

If you like to go out and relax, Rhumbar at the Mirage is an amazing outdoor lounge with TV's, misters and an overall great vibe with the Mirage volcano right behind the lounge.

As far as clubs, xS at the Wynn is ridiculously cool and makes you feel like you are in a 1980's club scene, Marquee at the Cosmo, 1OAK at the Mirage are all good as well.

I recommend walking the main strip, both sides; you will find so much entertaining stuff you won't even believe it. From street dancers, to imitators, to great little restaurants/bars. Vegas has a little for everyone...and I LOVE it.

    Have fun!!!

I'm staying at the Mandalay Bay for 8 days at the end of April through the beginning of May. Apparently they have 9 pools, 2 of which are a lazy river and a wave pool. Its like a mini water park type place. That should eat up some of our days. My husband will be attending a conference for the last 3 days and they have events at night like cocktail parties and a tribute journey band one of those night...haha. Thankfully for those days our meals will be covered so that helps the budget too

We already got our tickets to Cirque du Soleil the "Ka" version. I cant wait!!!!

We have already purchased a few deals on groupon too but we plan on taking a day trip to the Hoover Dam and it also brings you to a few towns on route 66 with some landmarks :)
We also are planning to do that Excalibur tournament of kings which I think you were talking about. Its a colosseum where they joust, have fireworks, acrobatics I think etc etc with a meal included.

Thanks for your responses. We need all the help we can get. :)

I went for the first time in Sept 2012.....we were only there for 4 nights, so there wasnt time to do everything by far!!!

I stayed at the ARIA and it was amazing, so much on site it was hard to pull ourselves away most days/nights. However we did manage the following that were all awesome:

    * Cirque Du Soleil "O" at the Bellagio
    * Helicopter trip to Grand Canyon (Actually for my sisters wedding, landed inside the canyon, not the normal trip!)
    * Botero Retaurant at the Encore (Pricey, but special occassion type of place! VERY busy be prepared to book in advance AND wait!)
    * Kahunaville at Treasure Island - Dont go for food, go late night and get wild on the cocktails! Casual but seriously fun atmosphere!

DONT FORGET the free show at Treasure Island "Sirens" - this is on several times a night, was fun, I love pirates! LOL!

There is so much to do - and walking round seeing all of the amazing hotels and casino's take up a lot of time! You cant really go wrong in Vegas in my opinion, there is something for everyone! I regret not visitng the OLD original vegas (Fremont Street) as I love all the old ganster films when the mafia dominate the casinos! haha!
