Process, not product

Good morning, y'all.
I see a common post all the time about going days or a couple weeks without weight loss. I think it wise to look at a few things to help everyone understand what is happening. First, focus on the process and don't worry about the product. The process is diet, exercise, and a complete change in lifestyle from an unhealthy way to a healthy way. The product is improved health, weight loss, and a better quality of life. If you stick to the process and direct your attention to holding fast to it, the product will happen. Remember also that the body will go through periods where it is adjusting to changes. These "plateaus" will pass in time. When you get to one, don't sweat it. Its normal and they will happen. When they do, change up the routine and give your body something it doesn't expect: extra calories, push a little harder in the gym, anything to throw the body out of the rythm you have it in. Second, the numbers on the scale are just a small part of the overall picture. Don't allow that number to consume you. Remember what else is involved: better blood pressure, improved blood chemistry, smaller mass, improved mental attitude. All of these things are just as important as the number on the scale, if not more important. Third, and most importantly, there is one key to winning the weight loss battle: you must first win the battle of the mind. You have to fight through the emotions and doubt to find the path that will lead you to success on your journey. Once you win this one battle, you will have changed your lifestyle. Discipline becomes habit; habit becomes a way of life.
