28 LBS IN 28 DAYS

Options
I love Dr.Oz and I usually take his advice pretty seriously. Right now I am watching and he has a woman on there talking about a diet to fix your metabolism and lose 28 LBS in 28 days. Now, I have always heard that losing UP TO 2 LBS a week is healthy. So, how the hell is 28 LBS in 28 days healthy??? I think sometimes Dr.Oz has people on his show talking about diets and things that he doesn't really believe in. It's kind of a let down, because I used to take him seriously. The other day he had a guy on there talking about the "Jesus Diet". How to eat what Jesus ate. It's very disappointing to know that people take his show and his advice so seriously, and he has turned to nonsense just for show topics.

I've been listening to the Jillian michael's podcasts and she talked about how ratings and telling people what they want to hear affects shows so much! If you want someone completely honest and open minded look into her information. I don't agree with everything she says but for the most part I think she offers a ton of useful advice. And believe me she won't say it if she doesn't believe me!

1st of all... if I could do 28lbs in 28 days. I'd do it, just to be over and done with! lol

2nd of all, I'm SOOOOO tired of everyone thinking the Dr.Oz is the bible.
What kind of Dr is he anyway? A GP? Or a specialist? If he's either, there is no way he's a subject matter expert on even half the things he discusses. So he researches the topics before he puts it on the show? Hardly, he has people working for him that do that.
So really, the advice is 'said' by a doctor, and perhaps verified by him not to be dangerous, but proven? I doubt it.

Okay now all you Dr.Oz lovers can attach me ;-)

The rule of thumb is that you should aim for losing around 1% of your bodyweight per week. So this is totally reasonable, provided that you're starting at 700 lbs.

I actually feel kind of sorry for Dr. Oz, because he's so desperate for material that he's become willing to promote any fringey cult batpoo crazy thing that crosses his desk. He really seems to have lost touch with reality, and that's a sad place to be. But I don't feel so sorry that I don't wish he'd get off the tv and stop messing with people's heads.
