TOM, antibiotics and water weight

Hi,
My weight went up 3 lbs over night (two weeks ago) when it was my TOTM and I was not worried as I expected to lose it just as fast. However the following week I had to take a weeks worth of antibiotics and my weight is slowly climbing with no fall in sight,
I only have my diary open to friends but a brief summary, I run couple of times a week, food intake is meh but I have been under my weekly average and have been losing an average of a pound a week for the last couple of years.
Now I am 4 lbs higher than I was two weeks ago. I notice the antibiotics have sodium in their name, would that encourage me to retain water weight. Just three more pills today and I have finished the course.
If it is water weight when would I expect to lose it again ?
Ps. Going to try and improve food intake and restart weight lifting sessions, maybe I was under logging over Easter...guess time will tell.

I wouldn't think that amount of sodium would have that much of an effect. I'm assuming you aren't taking massive doses of antibiotics. I would bet (and I really don't know) that it has more to do with the havoc antibiotics wreak on your gut flora. They really screw up your ability to intake nutrients. My thought would be that the weight will start dropping off again a week or so after you stop taking the antibiotics and the intestinal bacteria have had a chance to recover.0

Thanks for that, sounds reasonable. I'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks.0
