Venting, Ranting and Not Sure What to Do

I am not happy where I am in my weight loss and I am not sure what to do. When I joined, I was bouncing between 135 and 138 and wanted to get down to about 125ish. I was an a healthy weight for my height but I really wanted to get a more toned and leaner look. Plus to be honest, I had lost about twenty pounds and I hadn't been that weight since high school and I just wanted to see if I could do it. I got down to about 133 and I have just stuck, nothing, no movement for weeks and weeks. I am a runner and always have been so putting down six to eight miles a day was never an issue. I have always been a pretty healthy eater so my diet wasn't a huge issue, it was more just watching overall calories. I started at 1200 but after reading the boards, I knew that was too low so I upped it too 1400. According to my diary, I am always under my range yet still no weight loss. I have been doing some light lifting and have actually gained about three pounds. Awesome. Just what I wanted. And even with the lifting I still feel squishy all over. I am just not sure what do to to jumpstart this. The only thing I could even tweak would be cutting out all alcohol, cheese and sugar but let's be honest, there are somethings that make life soooo much better. Give me wine or give me death. I do apologize if this sounds like white girl whining as I know that there are so many people on here that have much bigger struggles than me and I applaud them for making the changes they are. But I think everyone on here knows what it is like to look in the mirror and not be happy. Sorry for having this long rant but this is kinda my safe space. Most of friends and family say I look fine so I need a little outside support.

Sometimes when you train, your body will just stop improving. You have to "keep it guessing"
I would say mix up your program. Start weight training but keep the cardio since you enjoy it.
Keep eating healthy, but yes if you want to tone up, you have to give up SOME bad habits.0 -
How long have you been lifting weights? It takes at least 6 months for it to really change your body visibly. I am in the same boat as you. Upped my cals to 1700 and have been lifting for 2-3 weeks. No weight loss and no visible change yet. But I have been told to focus on lifting heavy and be patient... so that is my advice for you as well
Have you calculated your TDEE? 1400 might still be too low, especially if you are running a lot.
A 3lb gain is probably not fat... it might be muscle or water weight from muscles swelling. Gaining muscle is a good thing0 -
Have you looked into the HCG diet?0

Don't lose hope!
Try mixing up your workout routine, and maybe cut back on alcohol, cheese, and sugar rather than cutting them out?0 -

OP- ignore this. You don't need a fad diet to lose weight.
Try upping your protein as it looks low.
Also realize that you didn't gain the weight quickly, it's going to be stubborn and take it's time going away. Plus with 10 lbs to lose it's slower going that someone that has 50 lbs.
Just keep doing what your doing, some weight loss is better than no weight loss.0 -
Check out this article by Michael Matthews. He makes some very good points about the role that water retention plays in a person's weight loss plateaus and ways to potentially avoid them. I also recommend his books.
