Flexability issues

i would like to become more flexible. im so bad! i struggle to bend over and touch my toes!! does anyone have any tips that i can follow??

    Stretching, stretching and stretching. If you can, find a video on stretching and make sure you keep form. Also, try a foam roller to loosen up muscles before stretching.

    Hire a therapeutic yoga teacher for a few sessions. Preferably certified by IAYT. :)

    Be consistent with a stretching regimen after exercise.

    I've heard that if you're going to stretch to do it for 45 seconds or more per stretch. Otherwise it isn't really improving anything. Could be wrong but, I've heard that from a few sources and follow it.

    I'm a big advocate of yoga. Stretching and strengthening at the same time! I love any of the Ana Brett and Ravi Singh dvds. Fat Free Yoga: Lose Weight and Feel Great is a good place to start. Or better yet, check out classes in your area!
