Gained weight, but lost fat!

Just a little motivation for the many of us that have been working out, yet not seeing any drop in weight on the scale. I would suggest everyone buy a body fat caliper or have it professionally checked once a month. I know I will be doing it monthly from now on.

Below is a calculation I found in the caliper handbook.

3/1/13:
134lbs X 30.8% body fat = 92.37 lbs lean mass

4/9/13:
135lbs X 29.5% body fat = 95.17 lbs lean mass

Loss of 1.3% body fat and gain of 2.44 lbs lean mass

I know the caliper is not as accurate as doing the water test, but it definitely helps to keep me motivated. My body is changing, even if I can't see it yet.

I agree 100%! According to the scale, I haven't lost anything! I can tell my body fat has decreased as my lean muscle mass has increased.
I'm not gonna lie though, it's still frustrating!

I'm the same weight in both of these before and after pics
