Hi, there. I've just gotten back on the wagon after four years. I lost 70 pounds back then, on the Alli diet. I was then distracted by business, a stressful situation for those 4 years, and also discouraged because I had relied on the Alli nutrition calculator until they changed it and I did not find it as helpful. I tend to eat when under stress, and I've gained all the weight back. I am a diabetic, and my numbers were very bad last Wednesday morning, so I immediately became remotivated to lose the weight. I started this past Thursday morning, and I've lost 2 little pounds so far. I was thrilled to rediscover MyFitnessPal, which is now linkable to my smart phone. It is as good as the old Alli calculator was. Today is incredibly hard, as my body adjusts to the new routine, and I'm feeling a bit woozy. This has happened before when I started this diet and I know it will go away. Still, I thought I would drop into the community pages to see what's going on with others.

Welcome to MFP! First things first, don't try to change too many things at once. I am a Type2 Diabetic and have been for about 7 years. My A1C back in January, as I was starting this journey was 8.2. I had my A1C taken a couple of weeks ago and it is already at 6. I am so excited by that!!! That is the best number I have had in 7 years and I have only been watching what I eat and exercising since the first of the year.
Start eating healthier, keeping track of everything you put into your mouth. Then get moving. Whatever you can accomplish at this point. You will start seeing results.
Send me a friend request, if you'd like. Also, not sure if you are a Type 2 or Type 2 diabetic, but there are wonderful forums for people just like you!!! There are people there that have been a lot more successful and have been able to achieve their goals. You may want to check them out.
If you work hard at this, you will begin to see results.

Thanks, Nancy! I will definitely add you as a friend! I am, indeed, a Type2 Diabetic. I was so devastated when I was diagnosed, because I had known I was genetically prone to developing the disease, and had sworn never to let myself to there. Well, upward and onward from today.0

Love the Wizard of Oz. You can add me if you want. I'm not diabetic but it runs in the family and I'm hoping to get weight and diet under control before I wind up with it.0
