Protein and/or weightloss shakes opinions and ideas

I am not normally a breakfast person but I don't mind a healthy shake. Problem is I am not sure the difference in a protein shake and weightloss shake? Can someone help me? Also, if you use them which ones do you use. Please don't tell me to cook a healthy breakfast I am a single mom who has to get kids ready for school (they eat at school) and have no time to really cook and I hate actual food first thing in the morning.

I'm like you, not a breakfast person and need something quick & easy or I won't "eat" anything at all. I've tried both and this is my take.

Meal Replacement Shakes (MRS) - usually lower in protein, higher in fiber, generally give you a decent amount of vitamins & minerals. I used Ideal Shape, all things considered, it was the best bang for the buck of everything I looked at. They tasted very good (chocolate better than vanilla) and I didn't have to add anything to them to improve the taste. It's also sold directly by the company verses in a Multi-Level Marketing system like Visalas, Herbalife, and Shakeology. I would mix with 8oz of 2% milk or OJ and 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries or blueberries. Kept me feeling full for 2-3 hours.

Protein Powder - pretty much straight protein with little fiber and vitamins & minerals. I use Syntrax Matrix because it has 3 types of protein - Whey for short term release, egg (something or another) for medium release, and casein for long term release. I found a site that sold single serving samples and ended up ordering Chocolate, Vanilla and Mint Cookie. Same mixing as the Ideal Shape except when I use the mint cookie I ways use milk (mint & OJ, ick). I feel full for 3-4 hours easy with this and also feel like I don't feel as hungry through out the day.

    Hope this helps.

Which do you prefer? So the protein last longer?

I just discovered Click espresso protein powder. If you want your coffee and protein shake together, it's amazing. 120 calories and 15 grams of protein per serving, and comes in Mocha or Vanilla Latte. Fair warning, though, if you're sensitive to caffeine, this is not your best bet!

Taste - both taste pretty good either on their own or mixed with fruits/pb2/etc but I'd say Ideal Shape edges out Syntrax Matrix.
Cost - Syntrax Matrix hands down. It's about half the cost of Ideal Shape when you order it off Amazon.
    Fulfillment - Syntrax Matrix.
