Does weather affect how many calories i burn?

Some might think this is a dumb question but please be nice...

Ok so when i go out for my runs i measure my distance and speed with the map my run app... My question is when i run on a day that is nice and sunny i sweat alot more than on a day that is cloudy and windy... Does this mean that i am burning more calories on the days that it is sunny? Or am i just sweating more?

What do you guys think? Does weather affect how effective my jog is because the app sure doesn't know what weather conditions i am running in...

I think it is just that you are sweating more.

If it is cold, your body will burn cals trying to keep warm. I don't think it goes the other way. Sweat is not fat leaving the body

No. It is how your body stays cool.

You are going through more water - so drink more.

The cold vs hot calories burned? If you were to stand outside in thin clothes and began to shiver from the cold you could conceivably burn a few more calories - but my guess is you'd go inside or put on more clothes before that was a factor.

When you are exercising, your body is keeping you warm, so that tiny difference would be moot.
