Hi all,

I am new here and I'd like your suggestion on supplements.

I jog for about 15-20 mins and exercise (stretching) 3/4 days a week. I also play competitive cricket and I am a vegetarian. I recently began weights training for the first time and it has been a good experience.

I do minimal weights for general fitness and I am NOT into body building. :) Can you suggest good veg supplements that I can have after doing weights or exercises? I am apprehensive of these supplements due to the side affects that it can have and the kind of ingredients used to prepare them.

One suggestion I have received is NUTRILITE® Protein.

Any help is appreciated.

well if you veg and not a vegan then anything but beef protein based suppliments should be ok for you

most people use whey protein anyway

what side effects have you heard of?

Well, I'd be glad if could tell me if there would be any side affects. I have not heard anything serious, but there is always this doubt of the ingredients used and how it would affect the body in the long run.

I forgot to mention my current diet. My regular diet includes wheat, lot of vegetables cooked in the Indian way, rice, fruits and milk. Occasionally, I have veg burgers.

I somehow feel the need for strength as I am unable to play for long periods as I have experienced this many times in the past.

the worst thing i've heard about them is that they contain trace amounts of toxic metals such as lead. some brands are have more and different metals so it can help to switch brands now and then.

honestly i just get the cheapest whey i can find and buy enough that it will ship free. recently discovered a local gym that produces its own brand that is delicious and very cheap so i'm lucky that way.

Set your macros so that your getting about a gram of protein per pound of body weight and you should be good. energy is usually more about lack of carbs or even fat in the deit but you got the carbs covered i'm sure, maybe not eating enough calories.
