irritated by working out

Sunday I went over my calories alot so I figured up the math and figured out how long I needed on the eliptical to not only lose the calories i went over but then on top of that put me back to my 270ish under that i have found to be my best weight loss zone - i was so proud of myself and still the next day i gained 1.5 lbs so that was irritating

So this week i been on exercise high - so been shaking my butt all over the gym to lose the weight i gained - I been doing extra workouts and have not increased my food intake which has resulted in me having 600-900 extra calories per day from exercise

i actually gained 1/2 a pound when normally without the exercise i would have lost about 2 maybe 3 pounds since the weekend

So today is the test I already did my workout and today i am gonna eat all the calories mfp gives me plus all but maybe 200 of the calories i get from exercise and see what happens

Just a thought, but could it be water retention? You weighed yourself Sunday, then Thursday. You can't expect big results in only 4 days. Try weighing yourself less often. The scale is just a number and doesn't reflect all of the progress you have made.

When you workout a lot you should be eating all the calories and drinking a good portion of water. You may of gain muscle which weighs more than fat. Don't go off the scale. Go on how you feel and how you feel in your clothes. Just a suggestion. Keep up the great work.

Totally not giving yourself enough time. The scale may not be reflecting a positive change, but I'm sure your endurance is better today than it was before. It's not just about the numbers on the scale and if you get into that frame of focus, you're doing yourself a disservice. Keep on keepin' on.

Ugh scale frustration! It is the worst!! I can't see your diary for exercise or food so no help there but as far as motivation goes here is my advice
I hear people say all the time don't weigh in every day and I can't help it if I see a scale I jump on that sucker so I weigh in all the time. My weight is all over the place I can gain 7lbs in the course of a day and then lose it while I am sleeping. The point I think they are making is it best to not get too hung up on the scale #.
Other ways to check for success
    1) I keep a little journal and every day if I eat under my cal goal, drink 8-10 glasses of water and complete all my exercises (at least 1/2 hr of something physical every day) I get a gold star. Some weeks these little stars are all I have to show for my hard work but I am not just working on losing my belly I am working on gaining positive habits for the future so these little shining reminders are reward in themselves (when I get 50 stars collected I do something nice for myself)
    2) I keep a length of ribbon by my desk with a knot in it at the circumference of my waist. If I think to measure my progress at work I can loop it round (I LOVE moving this knot)
    3) Measure yourself! Get a tape measure and measure your neck, calf, wrist, over bust, under bust , full bust, thigh, upper thigh, hips ...measure your toes if you like. If you are sticking to your goals loss is coming you have to be ready to see it! Once a week in the morning record these measurements. You may not see success on the scale right away but you may see a difference here. You can add all these new measurements to MFP to track and see updated charts each month for each stat!
    4) I have a piece of poster board tacked to my bathroom wall and my husband traced my silloutte ( bust to hips) on it. I plan to trace it each month (like a growth chart in reverse) to see if there is a change. Plus it will make a neat art piece for the dining room when I am done.
5)Pictures!! You don't have to post them but take them!!! I have noticed some changes only from my photos that I might have missed and this is on weeks where the scale was being a jerk and I really needed the momentum. I take a pic a week and I post 1 pic a month to my profile.

Don't get discouraged! Check out other members losses on here Check their diaries. There may be no one size fits all answer but trying and learning seem to get results!!
    Good Luck!

    Thanks guys

Yah I keep my diary private because I don't want people yelling at me to eat vegetables which I gag on LOL

I definantly have more energy then I did before and I definantly take pictures and measure myself

I like the drawing on a piece of paper with size might have to think about that

And I can't help but get on the scale - With over 100 lbs to lose I really have to see it going away - Now when I get closer to my goal weight I won't sweat it to much

    just aggravating LOL
