Had a horrible day! One of my employees who was also a personal friend has been caught stealing off me. My business has lost £900 this month.
Spent all day rowing with people...in stinking mood.
Have been bingeing non stop from noon.
Think this is over....never going to lose weight....will have to save my pennies for a gastric band instead

Don't give up!
We all have bad days , honestly there has been so many times I thought about giving up but carried on because I want my life to change,
Sure, a gastric band will help you lose the weight but you will still have to do most of the work and eat healthily anyway, why not save your pennies and keep at it, then spend them on a treat for yourself for when you reach a goal.
We are all here to support you, and you will regret it if you quit!
Tomorrow is another day, one bad day doesn't have to be the end of it!0 -
I don't think you should give up. I think you should take a break for a couple of days and let things calm down. Then pick up where you left off. Sometimes I have to do that, but I set a date to start again, instead of leaving it up in the air. I'm still new to this journey, and I'm no where near my goal, but I know that sometimes life kicks your butt, and if you have to take the time to stress, grieve, or have whatever emotion it is you need to. Good luck, and I hope you stick with it!0

Whatever you do DO NOT GIVE UP!!! Based on your ticker you have lost some weight with what you are doing. One day is not going to break all the hard work that you have put in thus far. Eat what you want today and start fresh tomorrow. I can garuntee that you will feel horrible almost sick tomorrow (or at least I do when I binge eat from stress). Do not let one horrible person ruin what you have done. In that aspect your employee has screwed you over twice!0

Well, today you have learned something about yourself. It's easy to fall off the bandwagon when there's a major stressor in your life, like a personal betrayal! Get back up, stop the binge, and start over. Maybe in the future, make sure that you have healthy food prepared and ready to go so you don't reach for the binge foods.

Or tomorrow is a new day and you can stand up and fight back to achieve what you desire. There will always be outside forces in life trying to hold you down, other people, tempting food, your kids wearing you out and throwing tantrums, a bad day at work, a rude customer or an annoying coworker...It's part of the overall fight in overcoming all these obstacles while still making sure you take care of yourself!!
You are more than free to quit....But what will you have really achieved in doing so???0 -
I see your having a bad day but take a deep breath. We all have bad days and quite a lot of us binge on those days but one day will not ruin all your hard work so don't give up. Take today off and get right back on it tomorrow. Ive just had 3 weeks eating more then I should due to 'issues', im back on it and no worse off (I did initially show a 3 lb gain but that was just water weight its all gone after a week back on it plus a bonus extra lb.) You can do it. xx0

Ugh I'm sorry about the theft. That is awful. It shouldn't be so hard to trust people, especially your friends, but people take advantage of other people (and businesses) constantly. I'm an auditor so I deal with this stuff all the time and it's crazy.
As for the binging, you are binging because you are stressed and feeling out of control, right? Whenever I feel like all these horrible things are happening around me and I have no control over any of it, I remind myself that I CAN control what goes into my body. Practicing the control, especially during stressful times, can really help make you feel not so bad about everything. I hope that helps you.0 -

You can do it!!! I'm living proof and I have an underactive thyroid, and still lost the weight, once I figured out the proper way to take my medication without interfering with it, no thanks to my doctor. Keep it up!!!0

One bad day doesn't mean it's all over. And go to a therapist if you binge eat, rather than spending money on a gastric band. That won't fix the deeper problems.0

I agree with the lot - don't give up. This is your life! Don't you want to live it in the best way possible? You can do it. Keep your chin up, and march on through this trial. You are strong and you need to be brave. Again- YOU CAN DO IT!0

I have beeen alive for 18,350+ DAYS and I would hardly think 1 day is going to make that much difference.
Take care of you first, breathe deep, pray hard and make a plan.
Just looked that up, it's nearly $14,000 US dollars! WOW, can you pull a moving van up to her house and take all her stuff?0 -
Gastric band doesnt fix your brain and emotions.
Vent be pissed you have every right, but hurting yourself by going on a food binge will not solve the issue. Sit with the anger and hurt feel it let it wash over you. Get away from the food and be kind to yourself.

i am a really placid calm person but lost it today at the disciplinary hearing calling him a bull****ter and a lying thief. That is not what I am like normally.

That's a totally rough day and I would want to binge away and comfort myself with food too.
I'd say you don't want to quit because you put out a plea for support and help.
I would also say that you are half way to not quitting by realizing part way through the habit that you are doing that is unhealthy and not supporting your goal.
So you have a choice, realize it, and correct it now, and try not to emotionally eat today, and get back on track tomorrow with a fresh start and ignore yesterday. Or give up and end up worse off however many days weeks or months down the road.
The nice thing is every day you are in the green is one step closer to the final goal.0 -

You will make it, the way I do it with days like that is go to the gym and picture the problem so I can focus on my work out.... hard to start but the results are priceless..0

Please don't quit! I know you feel bad right now, but if you quit completely you will feel worse. We all have bad days, but have to stick to our goal and get back up on our feet. I recently read this quote that may help you:

PLease, whatever you think about dont think about quitting. Think about how you can turn that hate and fustration to burn calories and to show people you are better than those who have tried to take from you. The surgery is not the easy way out it will be harder, you will have to take time out of your night and they tell you not to loose weight. How much can you loose in 6 months maybe 10-50 pounds but your dropping weight and in a healthy slow manner. I want to see everyone all over the world loose weight. I am tired of being obese and tired of hearing excuses. So please do not give up please keep pushing to loose the weight.0

You know what you're doing is bad and you do have control over it! This is a horrible day for you and I'm really sorry all of this has happened. So chalk it up to a day off and get right back on track tomorrow. You already know this of course but life can be pretty tough from time to time. Do you just give up when that happens? No, of course not! You have some chocolate, maybe have a good cry then think about how to proceed.
DO NOT GIVE UP! You may struggle for a bit while you muddle through this issue but you don't give up. Even if you eat 3000 calories, you still log it and maybe get some exercise in because it will help with the stress - try some kickboxing, the punching and kicking is very therapeutic! You may even gain back a few pounds. Ok, that sucks too but you're still not giving up. When things calm back down and life gets close to normal then you work a little harder on the eating right and exercising and start losing again. But you never give up!
Do it for your health, not a number on the scale. And being healthy means eating healthynd getting regular activity. And that's even more important to do when you're under stress and strain. Take care of yourself!0 -
It's interesting how different people react to stress. A good female friend of mine has just gone through a very stressful breakup and she lost a good 20 lbs without trying simply because she had no appetite. Others tend to go straight to the fridge when stressed. Maybe tackling the physiological issue of "stress = food" is the key. Just thinking out loud.0

I'm sorry you're having to deal with the stress of employee theft and I get that you don't feel like you have anything left to be able to focus on weight loss. I would encourage you not to give up!
Echoing some of the other recommendations, it's important to develop a game plan for when these stress triggers happen. Don't focus on perfection. Instead, focus on one small success for that day - one food substitution you can make, a 10 minute walk to calm down or unwind, an activity or hobby you spent time on instead of watching TV. Whatever makes the most sense given your lifestyle and circumstances.
For me, it really helps if I stock healthier options in the house so that I am prepared when I get home late, tired, stressed and want to reach for the cookies. Write down a small list of favorite treats, figure out what is it that appeals - salty, sweet, crunchy, etc. and see if you can find a better substitute that's healthier but still satisfies the craving. That's what you'll want to try to keep on hand.

You can't control what others do. Does that mean that they should be able to control you. By giving up, you are letting these negative things and people in your life take control. Even if there is nothing you can do about them, you can remove them from your life entirely. If you just have too much going on to stay on track, it's okay to take a break. But try to find another outlet for your stress other than bingeing. You could exercise or if you have some talents, express yourself. Or maybe just finding someone you can talk to help you.
You are strong and capable and you can handle this. There is no race to the finish line for fitness goals. The only way you could really fail is if you just give up.0
