How long did it take you guys to drop cloth sizes? How many pounds did you all have to loose? I've dropped 25/26 pounds but only just dropping a dress size

I'm the same way. It was 25-30lb before I dropped a pants size. It's frustrating but people noticed I was losing weight so I made myself keep going.
Edited this in: I lost about 50lbs before I joined MFP so my ticker doesn't show my full weight loss.0 -
Lost 20 pound and have gone done a size, have another 20 to loose to get to my goal so hope im going to go down another size angain.0

I was a size 12 at 185 and now at 173. I am still a 12. But a loose 12. In about 8 more pounds, I will be in a 10.0

i'm 5'5 and just dropped from a 16 to a 14 i weight 169 poounds lol It's my hips and belly that wont bog off! Been doing everything i can to target the area too0

When I started, it took 35 lbs. Now, 10 to 15 lbs. The smaller you are, the less weight loss it takes to drop a size.0

I bought pants in size 16 before I started my diet. They fit perfectly. A week later I needed a belt. 3 weeks later, if I do not wear a belt, they will drop to my ankles while im walking. So, I would say I dropped at least a pants size in like 6lbs time. But I seem to be mainly losing weight in my hips and thighs. A little came off my ribs but my tummy is still the same size, so I am the same dress size0

I was a 12-14 at 175, and am a 8 at 140, so about 15 pounds per size.0

Lbs doesn't really determine dress size, inches do. I only lost 14 lbs, but I went from a size 10 to a size 6. It also depends on the clothing brand. My work clothes are all still size 8's and they're loose, but not ready to move down a size loose, and that's because they're really stiff suits and pants. But my dresses and everyday clothes that are stretchier or mor flowing fabrics are size 6. If you've lost 25 lbs already, you should start incorporating resistance or weight training into your daily routine. You've lost weight, now start trimming just the fat and toning those muscles. You'll see a slight plateau or small increase on the scale, but your dress sizes will start to drop.
I want to add one more thing, if you're shopping in women's clothing, the sizes will drop faster since there is actually a difference. In misses or petites it will take more work to move down sizes.0 -
This is how it was for me...
When i was a size 20 USA (280 lbs), It took me somewhere like 30-35lb to drop one pant size. When i was at like 200 it took like 20-25lbs. Now that I'm in the 160's it's only taking like 10-15 lbs. I think the smaller you get the less lbs it takes to drop a size. In the same token, the smaller you are, the longer it takes to lose weight, so I guess it sortof evens out.0 -
Man I have lost weight and never lose pants sizes and its so frustrating to see other people say their clothes are falling off of them...Ive always chalked it up to my big butt/hips & thighs...to see people that weight the same as me and wear smaller jeans is just disappointing...but the scale keeps moving so hopefully the clothing sizes will too eventually...maybe my body loses weight all over and not just in one particular area.0

Ive lost a stone and a half and still a size 14!! Bloody annoying0

I haven't gone down a pants size yet, but today I noticed that the pants that were previously getting tight are now my "loose" pants and my loose pants that were already somewhat loose are "going to fall off my butt if I wear these" big. I've lost only 14 pounds, but it has made a big difference. I anticipate that in the next 10 pounds, I will be down a size.0

I think the bigger you are, the longer it takes to drop a size -- but once it starts, it seems to go faster then. I'm just starting so I haven't dropped a size yet -- but a few years ago, I lost 40 pounds before I dropped a size and before anyone noticed!0

I started at 249.8lbs and was a size 24 (could fit into 22's and some 20s depending brand but I like my clothes to be comfy not cut off circulation). Now I am 225.4 and a size 18 (I can' still wear a few 20s and some 16s, but again I like to be comfy). So like a few others have said it's not really to do with the number of pounds lost, but the number of inches. I have lost WAY more inches than pounds.0

Lost over 30 lbs so far, and I've dropped 1-2 dress sizes, depending on cut/brand, etc.
I've lost a lot of inches in my thighs and shoulders, but haven't measured how much.0
