How do you guys stop yourself from eating when your bored? When boredom starts creeping up at work, I automatically want to reach for my lunch box! I used to would end up eating my entire lunch at like 9am!

Now I try to stop myself and at least only eat a little of it at a time, but it's still in the back of my mind knowing my lunch is sitting there waiting for me!

Do you have a public fridge? Maybe try leaving your lunch in there. If not, maybe a friend co-worker would let you keep your lunch at their desk. I would pack something for a mid-morning snack and afternoon snack, like nuts or shelf-stable cheeses like Babybel or anything like that. Take that with you to your desk and try to develop a schedule.

Working in a grocery store, the general requirement is taking breaks every couple of hours. If I go in for say 7:30AM I tried to get my break between 930 & 1030. Eating then meets my hunger. I then shoot for lunch between 12 & 1. And my last break between the 2 & 3 hour. I don't usually eat during the last break but definitely drink water each break.

Try developing a schedule for yourself and keeping a healthy snack at your desk. Also keeping water handy helps fill you up. That may help better control the snacking and keep your lunch for lunch!

It's easier in retail because we HAVE to and have to punch. But it definitely would follow the idea of several smaller meals/snacks throughout the day that I've seen several places. And it generally helps with the overeating or starvation if it's planned into what you bring to work.

    Good luck =)

If you're bored at work, then look for something to do or get your supervisor to find you something more challenging. Being bored at work means you're underestimating yourself for what you're really capable of.

Yeah I tend to do the same thing. I've added more greens and snack or eat something from it every two hours.
