Seasonal allergies :(
I'm miserable. It's that lovely time of year when all the flowers and trees start blooming and blossoming...
And my eyes turn red, nose runs and itches and I sneeze almost non stop.
Has anyone found an allergy medicine that doesn't make you super sleepy? I tried the Claritin ready-tabs...they don't work.
Benadryl and Allegra help...but both make me super drowsy...

Take fresh parsley and boil it into a tea.
Make the parsley/honey tea and drink it daily.
It sounds awful, looks awful, and smells awful but really doesn't taste too bad.
Do this every day and, after a few days, you will not have the symptoms as bad. And, no drowsy feeling.0 -
Acupuncture is great helped me just before my wedding but is expensive which is why I don't use it now, I have loratadine which works for me and doesn't make me sleepy also eye drops and nose spray when it's really high0

my allergies are not seasonal. they are every day. i take flosnase and zyrtec daily (it used to be just zyrtec) and this usually keeps my symptoms under control very well.0

I use homeopathic remedies available from the health food store or Vitaminshoppe.com I use one or the other, depending on what's available at the time. Both work well for me.
Sabadil tablets by Boiron
Outdoor Allergy tablets by bioAllers
They're sublingual tablets (usually in a lactose base) that usually involve taking two tablets every two hours or something like that (depending on which brand I use.)
I also make sure to:
- change pillow cases more frequently that usual
- shower before bed to get the pollen out of my hair and off of my skin
- avoid sleeping in anything I've worn outside (like a t-shirt)
- occasionally wipe down the dog with a wet washcloth to get the pollen off of her (weird, but she's black, so if I see pollen on her, it's coming off.)0 -
Most of the time I suck it up, and feel like I'm dying. But I've been battling allergies my entire life so it's nothing new. If I really can't take it anymore, I go for Reactin0

I've also got allergies. I take a Claritin first thing in the morning and I feel good after that.0
