3 weeks in and maybe 1 lb lost? Am I doing something wrong?

First off, my stats: 5'9", 170lbs, 29year old female, I'm looking to lose 15-30 more lbs. MFP has me at a net desired calories of 1600. The scooby calculator has my BMR of 1573 and a TDEE of between 1750-1950 calories depending on whether I choose light or moderate activity (on days I work I walk 3-4 miles and probably 10 flights of stairs, on days I'm off I walk 5-8 miles and climb a similar amount of stairs. I also work out at least 3 days a week for an hour doing cardio (combination of C25k, 30 DS and elliptical), I just joined a gym and am planning on adding weight lifting to the routine. My fitbit says I'm burning between 2300-3000 calories a day. My diary is open and I have been logging everyday for 3 weeks and I'm only day 1 or maybe 2 pounds; my weight fluctuates a lot day to day. I know my food choices are not the greatest but I'm really trying to make improvements in that regard and am forcing myself to try some new vegetables. If anyone has any advice (or good recipes for vegetables) I'd be very grateful. Alison

Weight loss isn't linear. Sometimes I don't lose weight for like a month and then randomly see a 5lb drop on the scale one day. Just be patient and keep doing what you're doing.0

Ummm.....I don't see anything in your food diary for the last three days. I didn't go back any further than that, to be honest. Consistent and truthful logging will help a lot. Best of luck!0

you may need to pay more attention to how you look and your measurements than your weight. You could loose 1 lb of fat and gain muscle from your exercise and not even realize that you are still becoming fit your numbers on the scale just are not changing. If your diet is good you will feel great as well. I have a Pinterest account to get a lot of healthy recipe's and new exercises. I have seen a photo on a fitness page and her start photo she had inches to lose and she ended up very slim in the after shot and 10 lbs heavier due to her muscles. Good luck!0

Oops! I didn't realize you had to complete each entry for it to show up. I went through and completed them all. Can anyone tell me if they are showing up now?0 -
Sorry, still nothing - just blank pages. Weird.............
Otherwise, without seeing your diary, general advice would be to give it some more time. Sometimes, when starting a new eating and exercise plan, it can take a few weeks for your body to "catch up" to what you're doing. As long as you're accurate in your calorie logging and estimating exercise calories, the weight should start to move.
i recommend you take measurements and a photo once a month or so. Calculate your TDEE, and eat about 20% less than that. Keep your protein up, and eat nutritious foods. Barring a metabolic disorder, you'll lose weight. Good luck!0 -
Thank you all for the encouragement and advice. I did take some measurements a couple of weeks ago, so maybe I will try a picture and some measurements for comparison. I'm so motivated to really succeed this time, I just want some indication that its working.0

I started MFP on the 28 th of April. One pound lost. Does anybody if the "pie" is accurate, with the carbs and fat percentages.0
