My daughter wants our family to do a color me RAD 5K in June....its not a time raced so thats not an issue. Just wondering if anyone has done one of these. They look like fun! any information to share would be great and we need to create a team name . Any suggestions-something color oriented and fun!

I just did one and it is super fun! Don't worry about actually running it because there will be so many people. Fast walk and just have fun! How old is your daughter? I suggest wearing white so when you get color bombed it will show. I wore a white baseball cap (you can look in my pics). Lets see....that's about it. Have fun!

I did one. It was a lot of fun! There were young children there so it's very family friendly. The areas where they are throwing the colors on you can get very busy! They even give you a color packet for the end when its like a big, crazy color party where all the runners empty the packets on each other. You don't have to create a team name if you don't want. I did because I thought it would be more fun. The color stays better if you wear white or light shirt. Have fun!
  • Thanks for the comments. My one daughter will be 20 and the other is 18 so yes that makes me..... almost 50, but I think it will be fun ! IDK that you didnt need a team name (thats sort of good) but I think it would be fun to have one..... I will keep you posted.... we havent registered yet but the lower price deadline is coming up so gotta make a decision soon.

Registering for the Buffalo run in June. Just missed the Syracuse run. The run looks like loads of fun. The Buffalo run will be part of our 10th wedding anniversary celebration. Extremely excited about it!
  • That would be the location too!

Did The Color Run in Dec of last year and it was great fun, I registered for Color Me Rad in May. Wear white/light colored clothing for the color bomb to show, if you want to keep the color in the clothes, spray them with vinegar and iron them to get the color to stick. When I registered, (I'm going by myself since no one wanted/could do this time) I was required to put in a team name even though I was registering as an individual, since I do Les Mills Combat and am a bellydancer, I named my team KickHipDivas since it incorporated those two activities, so I'd say just make a name that represents you (or your group)

I did a Color Run just a couple of weeks ago (same concept)... It's just a typical 5k. Though it seems most people walk it rather than run... If it's anything like how the Color Run went down... Have a crap ton of patience... it took us an hour to even get to the start line (and we weren't that far back)... and make sure you have plenty of water, because that corn starch will give you dry mouth like none other.

Actually just did it last Saturday. Had a blast. Seemed at least half of the people were walking. Lots of people of all ages.
