6 miles a day or high intensity workout?

I've started walking 6 miles a day 5-6 times a week, my legs ache afterwards (particularly at the top!) but i don't obviously feel out of breath like i do after a 40 min Jillian Michaels high intensity dvd. Obviously the walk is more time consuming (it takes me one and a half hours).

My question is am i better sticking to my 6 miles or switch to doing a 40 min circuit dvd instead? or try and do both ? (but i don't know whether my body will allow me or time!!)

I'm wanting to lose weight.

Do whichever you like. Diet is the key to weight loss, not the workout you do. Cardio and a good strength program are important for health and aesthetics, but not weight loss. You do them on alternating days if you like both.

Do them both, one day walk the 6 miles, and the next do the HIIT session, this will get you fitter. Try to drop your time on the walk by maybe a minute at each session.

Do Jillian about 3-4 times a week and the walk on 1 or 2 of the "rest" days.

Exercise for fitness; use your diet for weight control. Set fitness goals that are independent of you weight loss goals and that will help steer you towards the types of exercises you need to do.

Walking is great...I do a lot of it as a form of recovery cardio on lifting days because anything more intense takes away from the gains I could have otherwise had during my lift session.
