Just curious how many people only record their weight when they have a loss versus logging it the same day every week or month despite having a gain

I only record the losses, because that's all I'm interested in tracking. I don't care about water fluctuations.

I log every week, regardless. I have only put on once since I started in January (0.8lbs), although I may have a small gain this week as post holiday. I missed two weigh ins, once when I was ill and last week for the holiday I just mentioned.
I think it helps me keep on track. I am a scale hopper and weigh every day, but also only log on my scheduled day even if I have a big midweek loss.

I weigh myself every day. Once a loss shows for two days, then I log it. By weighing daily, I can mentally process fluctuations. I have no reason/desire to log water weight, and with strength training comes water weight.

I might hop on the scale a few times a week, but I only record my weight once a week. I suppose that could change if there is a significant mid-week drop, but for now (and I've only been doing this for a month) it's weekly. (Sometimes I get impatient, though.)

I weigh everyday, but only record it once a week (friday mornings.) I record Friday mornings no matter what so I stay honest with myself and my weigh ins and can see how I am progressing. If I only did it when it showed a loss, what happens when 4 weigh ins later I am up 5 pounds .
Sometimes it sucks as for the last 2 weeks I have weighed in on official day and been one weight, and the next day I have been a lot lighter (this week it was caused by TOM), but My weigh in days are fridays and that's when I record.

  • I log whatever I am. If I gain or lose because I need to be accountable and by doing that I"M ACCOUNTABLE

I only log losses but I remember the gains. I try to only weigh myself once a week but I'm a sucker and do it everyday. I only log once a week though

I log my weight regardless. If I only logged losses (same weight and gains are always due to water weight) then really I should also only log losses where I lost what was expected (so those 1.25 lb losses and 5+ lb losses would also have to be thrown out).

ETA: In the last 23 weeks only 6 weigh-ins have been "as expected". 8 weigh-ins were "above expectations", 6 weigh-ins were "below expectations", and 3 weigh-ins were gains.
