Help needed.. advice about eating carbs

I play basketball every saturday as part of my cardio plan. I was advised to eat my carbs to enable my body to have fuel to "burn". I play from 9 am to 12 and dont really want to play on a full stomach.

My question is, do I really need to eat carbs and if so when (before or after)?

    You should let personal preference and performance dictate this entirely.

    It depends on the carb. Some carbs taste better with butter. Some taste better with a dash of salt. Meh. It's a matter of preference.

    i find that eating a small 400 calorie meal before i do exercise like the gym or cardio helps give me the energy to do the activity. U might want to eat mostly protein if you are doing an activity that is to build muscle however if it is simply cardio eat an average meal of whatever you fancy.

    Some reseach said that it is bad for your body to workout on an empty stomach.
    I use to play a lot of basketball and playing on an full stomac made me sick each time.
    Depend on the time you wake up. I would suggest to eat a good meal before and stop eating at least 1h before playing.
