Avoiding the Plateau

Which, if any, is the best way to avoid plateauing when incorporating walking into a weight-loss regimen:

1) Sticking with the same route/distance but striving to increase pace

2) Sticking with the same route/distance but wearing weight (back pack, for example)

3) Increasing the distance walked per session

Thanks for taking the time to read.

I don't know for sure, but I'd probably think that all of the above could help. Perhaps you can try each item for one full week.

Another idea- you could try a heart rate monitor, if you haven't already. And try to stay in your fat burning zone as long as possible during your walks. This would also help you track calories burnt
