Ok so here is the lowdown..When I was pregnant, at around 5 months I noticed I was gaining weight a lot faster than usual. Now, I wasn't on a super healthy diet but not a bad one either. So then at 8 months I was huge!! My last month of pregnancy I gained 30 pounds alone with a total of 75 lbs gained. After I had my son, I decided to breastfeed and just weaned him off about 3 weeks ago (breastfed 7 months). I haven't been able to lose a single pound!!!! I have tried almost everything : running, Zumba, calorie counting, and now I have cut out processed food and sugar. Ever since I cut our processed food/sugar I started gaining weight. This makes no sense to me and it bothers me to the point that I'm starting to obsess over it. I feel like my metabolism just completely died and have no clue what else to do. Has this happened to anyone else out there? Anything I'm missing and should be aware of?

I couldn't lose weight till I weaned either of my babies. Maybe give it some more time, 3 weeks isn't a lot. Make sure you are tracking your calories/exercise correctly and eating enough. don't starve yourself since that will make your metabolism slow down also!0

Get your thyroid checked out?0

Are you on birth control? If so, I'd blame that. I could never lose while on bc, only gain and gain and gain... It was so discouraging.0

my story it JUST LIKE YOURS! I have never been able to lose weight when breastfeeding. I had my thyroid checked out and it was fine, still not losing. it sucked! I talked to my friend who is a dietitian and she made me a plan that involves eating 100g-150g of carbs a day. I started losing weight finally! may be give it a try.0

Hormones have alot to do with weight loss after child birth. It take a full year for your body to regulate itself. and since you just stopped breastfeeding, ti's still trying. Give yourself time! Eat like you are supposed to and keep exercising. You may also want to get bloodwork to see if your thyroid is out of whack. My best bet is hormone regulation.0
