I like questbars... my husband thinks they are gross. He likes pure protein bars and some of them I think are gross. I also like the whey protein liquid 3oz syrup drinks that walmart sells. They are sweet and thick, my husband however thinks they taste aweful. I also like the power pak puddings too :-D. So, what's your favorite?

I make my own, they are delicious and natural! I originally found a recipe on pinterest but altered it to be higher protein, they are VERY filling!

    Granola Energy Bars

    Ingredients:
    2 cups oats
    2 cups coconut flakes
    1 cup natural peanut butter
    1 cup ground flaxseed
2/3 c chopped unsweetened dried cranberries
    1 cup mini chocolate chips
    2/3 cup raw honey
    1/2 c. plain greek yogurt
3 scoops Nitro-Tech Hardcore chocolate protein powder (may also add 1 tblsp cocoa, or use 3 tbsp if dont have protein powder)
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

    Steps:
Lightly toast oats & Coconut in frying pan, let cool.
    Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
    Press into 9x13 pan.
Store in fridge or freezer. If you freeze i recommend cutting ahead of time, kinda hard to do when your rushed in the morning!
I have not taken the time to figure calorie counts yet, I usually put them in my husbands lunch and he doesn't count calories.

My favorite aren't all that high in protein, but so yummy and nutritious, that I eat them anyway! They are Rickland Orchards Greek Yogurt Bars. Sam's sells them, and they have probiotics in them. Only 5 gram fiber, 7 gram protein, but they are not only delicious but filling.

I love the Quest bars. The apple pie and Cookie dough are my favorite. 20g of protein and only 5g of fat.
  • I have a Zone Perfect peanut butter protein bar for b'fast every morning.. I look at this like my daily reward for keeping on track the day before. I love these!!!

    I make these:

    200g oats (personal choice)
milk skim or sometimes 3,5% 200ml
    1egg with yoke
    1-2 bananas
rice flour 50g or sometimes 125g when I use more oats.

it just costs me some bucks. If you looking for proteinbars, first ask yourself why?:>

You dont need that much protein as some people assume. go with fats and carbs, so you dont run out of energy during the day or activity you do.
Since I dropped my protein to 110g. I look better than before more veins and of cause I feel stronger and really important the fatigue during the day or during my workout.

I believe many people won't agree with my argument.

eventually when you put it all together it's still a bar with 100 ingredient, still remain a simple bar. And you don't need protein powder. Think about the 3rd world people they do look amazing.

I would say try to do the BEST with less.

I agree that fats and carbs are just as essential. I'm a long distance runner and I need this. However, protein helps with muscle repair and as a vegetarian it is harder for me to get enough protein to support my recovery. So, I supplement! And if you take a look at my overall protein intake, it isn't high, it's just normal. My carbs are usually the highest percentage.

    Oh, vegetarien excuse me.

You can probaly add 1-2 or even more eggwhites, or just more oats. then you should be fine for sure. I would go with oats its cheaper actually has more b vitamins for your performance.

I swear by Quest bars!! So much protein and fiber and tastes great. Quite chewy, which I like since it'd take me more time to eat it!

I am not a big fan of protein bars. I usually stick with hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, or I always eat a crap-ton of spinach.

I get 24 squares, (about 2x2 each) out of this recipe. Oh and make sure you get unsweetened coconut!
NO WONDER THEY ARE SO FILLING! Most protein comes from Flaxseed, and Protein Powder.
    Per serving is 240 calories, 25 g carbs, 13 g fat, 8 g protein, 6 g Chol, and 38 g sodium.
