The best way to get to school / work

Hey there fellow fitness pals c:

Since moving away to uni I've always either cycled or taken a bus to campus. More often than not though I've cycled just because it's cheaper and quicker than any other route.

Today though I've got a flat tire and it's made me wonder, what's the best way to burn calories on your way to school or work? Walking, jogging, cycling or something else? If you live close enough to work to do this, which do you do?

I live 5 miles from work. In the nicer months I run there a couple of times a week pushing my daughter in the jogger. Works for me.

I'd love to bike to work but there are several challenges with that. First is that I've no where to lock up the bike once I get here. Second is the sweat factor. I work in a professional setting and being disheveled after riding in would be an issue. Third is helmet hair! Currently I take the subway which is a half mile walk from home. I have biked to previous jobs and also biked to class when I was in college, even in the snow.
