Lean Turkey Mince

Hi everyone,
I've decided when I do my food shop that I'm going to buy lean turkey mince rather than steak mince which I currently use.
I was just wondering if people had some fresh ideas of what to have with it? I generally have low carb dinners because I eat more carbs in the morning after my morning work outs
Looking forward to hearing your ideas!!

I'm assuming mince is the same as "ground"? I use ground turkey the same as ground beef. Burger (we do them bunless, my husband is low carb), tacos, sloppy joes, etc. I have done them in meatloaf as well, but have been using extra lean ground beef lately for meatloaf and burgers. You can use them for meatballs or anything else.0

I LOVEEEEEEE Lean turkey mince, I make bolognese with it and stuff it in peppers and top with low fat cheese, I make turkey meatballs and turkey burgers seasoned with black pepper and garlic (don't have to be in a bun, can always have them with salad) It's a great red meat substitute!0

I would however recommend lean turkey thigh mince, breast can be quite dry and doesn't absorb flavours as much!0

It is the same as ground sorry I'm English so I say things differently hehe.
Fab!! I'm not sure what sloppy joes are I've only ever heard of those on TV but I will look into them!! Thanks for your ideas!! xxx0 -

They're FAB ideas! I've wanted to make stuffed peppers too but every recipe I saw just wanted it stuffed with rice which I didn't want so that's a great alternative!! I'll keep an eye out for the thigh mince too - great little tip there! x0 -

Yeah it's really yummy, just mix a bolognese sauce (I always use low fat) through the mince with some chopped onion, I always add a little BBQ sauce too. Sainsbury's do the best thigh mince I've tasted, you really can't tell the difference between that and beef when it's cooked. I've replaced pork sausages with sweet chilli turkey sausages too x0 -
I love turkey mince, I get turkey thigh mince, A great burger recipes is get your mince mix it together with cropped jalapenos, cropped onion, some bread crumbs(optional) and abit of ground cumin. Amazing burgers and also replace the burger bun for lettuce leaves, Soooo yummy0

We use lean ground turkey for almost everything - tacos, chili, shephard's pie, stuffed peppers, etc.
My favorite recipes are Skinny Taste's Italian Meatballs - cook right in the sauce and Ina Garten's Turkey meatloaf.
Have you ever tried Picadillo?0 -
I make bolognese too. Just ground turkey, tomato sauce, whatever pureed veggies I have on hand (for my picky husband and kiddos), lots of herbs and spices.
I make turkey meatloaf muffins - mix ground turkey with 1c chicken broth and one package of StoveTop, bake in muffin tins.
Turkey burgers. Mix ground turkey with salsa, some bread crumbs (optional) and an egg. Especially yummy topped with a little guac. YUM.0 -

Thanks!! I'll have to look into meatloaf - not really something I've ever made! x0
