Waiting to hear from a friend who was running today. How awful!0

Disgusting and so sad. wtf is wrong with people. My heart goes out to the families.0

This is why I prefer the company of animals to humans... Humans are so effed up.
I hope everyone that knew someone running hears from them soon, and that none of your loved ones have been injured!0 -
Oh my God. Sending Prayers, Love and Light to those affected by this senseless tragedy. :frown:0

Thoughts and prayers for all those involved and their families. Glad those who have friends/family running today have heard from them and that they are safe.0

Really terrible. My best to all those running in the Marathon, or with friends/family there. :frown:0

reports from a race official:
In the VIP section at the finish line, the area that was affected by the blasts, there were Newtown families there.

That just made me feel even more sick to my stomach than I already did if that was possible.0 -

Yeah, so maybe a good idea to NOT keep telling people that.... Seriously. I can't even believe some of the crap I am reading about this ALREADY. :noway:0 -
Newtown families were in the VIP area but there are no reports. The 26th mile was a Newtown memorial mile.
Have a friend who was running but he and his family are okay. He's not sure about his charity's rooting section yet, though.0 -
WHDH is reporting there was a fire at the JFK Library moments after the explosions. They're not saying it's related or not though but it complicates the response.0

I'm watching the live update feed come across here:

There were Newtown families there. Here is what I found:

This is a horrific, cowardly act. I'm in tears, heartbroken for all of the victims, their families and their friends.
Someone asked what went wrong in our country? The justice system is a joke. There really is no "justice." Prisoners eat better than a lot of people, don't have to worry about having a place to sleep, get sigs, sex, and drugs, get to workout, get visitors, get free education, cable tv...it's a freaking joke.
We need to punish those found guilty. Not let them live better than so many of our law abiding citizens.
I'm disgusted.0 -

It was from a pretty credible source and I was holding out for small hope it was not true.0 -
The one nice thing I heard this AM was that a bunch of finishers when they heard immediately went to give blood. That's bad *kitten* on so many levels.0
