I thought this page was interesting, and thought I'd share. Here are different kinds of foods in 200 calorie portions. Makes you rethink those hershey kisses. Then again, maybe not:

    I am a very visual person so looking at that was really interesting! You can eat a lot of carrots for the same calories as those few chocolate kisses!

    Thank you for posting. I love seeing the pictures together. This is why I eat so many carrots, broccoli and peppers!

    I was surprised at the size of the breakfast cereal portions! I suppose it's because if I'm having cereal I have a 30g portion, which looks smaller. I don't eat those puffed wheat/rice cereals, but I might try them after seeing this. Might be handy to have a small portion of the late evening munchies!

    I also haven't tried canned chilli con carne, but that looks like a satisfying amount. Does it taste OK? Maybe something to have in the cupboard for emergencies.

    I agree with the poster above that the bread was a surprise. I usually allow about 100 calories for a slice of sliced bread. I do sometimes buy some that's around 60 calories, but 50 calories is great! I do sometimes buy some bread with flax on it, but it is closer to the 100 calories. Maybe those are quite small slices.

    I know! I was shocked by that one too! I use a lot of onions in cooking. I thought they were about half that.

    Balsamic Vinegar is more calorie-dense than whole milk??? I don't think so!
    Perhaps they meant BalsamicVinegar Dressing, i.e. w/oil?

    I checked the bottle I have in my pantry: 5 cal - 1 tbsp(15ml)
    There would be approx 13 'servings' of 15ml/ea in 200 ml.
    13x5=65 calories
