Hello everyone, my name is Thalia and I am 5'2 ft tall and my MFP is set at 1200 calories/day but I go over sometimes to like 1600cal/day. I have been trying to lose weight since February 22 and so far have lost 6 lbs. I have not lost any weight since March 22 and I am worried. I usually eat right and workout (i eat my calories sometimes) but it seems like every weekend i pig out. IF anyone can give me any advice on how to keep myself from pigging out and going over my calories, it will be a great help.

Hey, I know how easy it can be to go overboard on the weekend. Have you tried planning your meals for the week/weekend? I know that helps with me...If you've planned and brought what you;re going to make at the weekend, its harder to eat other things instead.

    Hope this helps.

Also, have you thought of upping your calories a bit...I was on 1290 and was losing, mfp then suggested 1200 and i didn't lose. I've since put my calories back up and its starting to drop off again....

    Hey Thalia,

Personally i think you would benefit from setting your calories higher - your 'over eating' is a sign that your body needs more fuel.

Why not try upping your calories to 1400, 1500 or 1600 calories and finding where you feel most comfortable.

I did this and lose weight still, but with the added benefit of the fact that I won't suddenly snap and eat everything in sight because I am starving.. also I'm more likely to stick with this in the long run.

I don't know about you, but my body is not able to do a proper run/workout without eating at least 1400 calories.

You're probably "pigging out" because 1200 calories isn't enough food. You've lost 6 lbs in 7 weeks, which is pretty respectable. But seriously, eat more food! Go here and figure out how much you should be eating. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

And search the forums for in place of a road map. I'd link it but mfp search hates me and keeps giving me errors.

I can't imagine being on 1200 a day. That would get me out walking or running or something for sure. I would walk 2 miles just to have extra mayo on a sandwich.
